Our Strategists
Matt Rexroad is a leading California strategist and political consultant with expertise in independent expenditures and redistricting.
Matt earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California, a Juris Doctor degree from McGeorge School of Law while working full-time in the State Legislature, a Masters of Public Administration from the University of Southern California Sacramento Center, and a Masters in Business Administration from UC Davis. He is an active member of the California State Bar.
Matt has spent the past two decades working in strategic political consulting and public affairs. He also served as a senior staff person in the California State Legislature and an elected official in multiple capacities throughout northern California.
As Chief Legal Counsel at Redistricting Insights, Matt provided redistricting services to stakeholder groups and public agencies across California in 2021, as he had done for the previous three decennial redistricting cycles.
Matt served four years on the Woodland City Council and also served as the city’s Vice Mayor and Mayor. From 2007-2018 he served on the Yolo County Board of Supervisors representing Woodland and parts of West Sacramento.
Ryan Gardiner is a seasoned communications and campaign professional with a track record of effectively engaging communities, developing compelling messaging, and winning campaigns.
Ryan has previously worked in strategic political consulting for Meridian Pacific and as a policy and communications aide in the California State Senate.
During the 2021 redistricting cycle, Ryan worked as the Communications Director for Redistricting Insights, managing complex and high stakes advocacy and outreach projects aimed at achieving deliberate redistricting outcomes.
Ryan graduated from UC Davis with a degree in political science and earned a graduate certificate in applied public policy from the Center for California Studies at Sacramento State.
Ryan is passionate about education reform and has used his skills to recruit, train, and advise numerous school board members and public education leaders. Ryan has also served as a pro bono communications consultant for non-profit community-based organizations.
Fabian Valdez Jr has a proven track record of integrating data analytics and predictive modeling to form quantitative strategies. Over the last four cycles, his data expertise has been leveraged to target voters in some of the biggest political contests in CA. His experience in integrating and refining political data and software brings a solid advantage to any campaign.
Fabian previously served as the Director of Data and Digital Marketing at Meridian Pacific Inc., and prior to that, served as the Data Director for the California Republican Party.
